Is the (ignition) spark not firing again? The capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) electronically controls the ignition timing of the spark plug, thus initiating fuel combustion in the cylinder. The CDI's capacitor is supplied with voltage via the battery or coil and continuously charged. The biggest advantage of a CDI is that they are low-wear and maintenance-free. While they require more switching effort, they produce significantly more powerful ignition sparks than coil ignitions. The disadvantage, however, is that due to the compact design of modern CDIs, if a defect occurs, the motorcycle usually won't start at all. If a defective ignition unit has been identified, replacement is the only solution. This is where we come in and can offer you a new CDI ignition unit for 50cc 4-stroke motorcycles.
