Die Velozipedfabrik Carl Marschütz & Co. ist heutzutage wohl besser bekannt als Nürnberger Hercules Werke. Im Jahr 1886 gründeten die Marschütz Brüder das Unternehmen und produzierten bis 1928 hauptsächlich Fahrräder. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt lohnte sich die Fertigung von kleinen Motorrädern, aufgrund von Führerschein- und Steuerfreiheit, wieder. Die Hercules Werke verwendeten seit 1930 Motoren von Fichtel & Sachs.
Dieses Zahnrad hat 46 Zähne und ist passend für den 1. Gang Ihres Hercules bzw. Sachs 50 S 5-Gang Motors. Das Getriebezahnrad der "alten Ausführung" ist für den Wechsel der Übersetzung und damit den Gangwechsel verantwortlich. Es hat einen Innendurchmesser von 28 bzw. 34 mm.
