The Bavarian manufacturer Zündapp can claim to be a pioneer in engine manufacturing from the 1920's. In addition to motorcycles, cars and lawnmowers, Zündapp also developed mopeds, with which the manufacturer became known worldwide.
As a matter of principle, Zündapp and other manufacturers resorted to rotary shifters in times of production, as it was no longer possible to install a foot shift due to the pedals.
