Die Nürnberger Hercules Werke waren ein großer Bestandteil der 1920er Motorradindustrie in Nürnberg. Das Unternehmen wurde von Karl Marschütz und seinem Bruder gegründet und stellte ab 1928 Zweiräder bis 200 ccm³ her. Dabei wurde in den Hercules Fahrwerken ein Motor von Fichtel & Sachs verbaut.

Diese Getriebehauptwelle, oder auch Vorlegewelle genannt, ist mit vier Zahnrädern ausgestattet und somit für einen Hercules bzw. Sachs 50/4 Motor geeignet. Die Welle überträgt das Drehmoment auf die Schaltwelle, welche wiederum mit dem Kettenritzel verbunden ist.
