Die Nürnberger Hercules Werke waren ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Nürnberger Motorradindustrie. Auch durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Fichtel & Sachs als Motorenlieferant, etablierte sich Hercules im Marktsegment der leichten Motorräder bis 200 cm³ und Fahrräder mit Hilfsmotor.
Mit der Leerlaufdüse wird die Drehzahl des Motors im Stand eingestellt. Durch das ein- bzw. ausdrehen der Düse wird die Kraftstoffzufuhr erhöht bzw. verringert.
