Die Zündapp Firmengeschichte begann am 17. Februar 1917 als Fritz Neumeyer zusammen mit zwei anderen Unternehmern die Zünder und Apparatebau GmbH gründete. Bis zur Produktion des ersten Mopeds/Motorrads dauerte es aber noch 4 Jahre, da die 1800 Arbeiter erst für die Herstellung von Artilleriezündern für die Rüstungsindustrie beauftragt wurden. Nachdem auch diese Firma von der Krise in der Motorradindustrie getroffen wurde, ging Zündapp nach einer wirtschaftlichen Berg- und Talfahrt 1984 in die Insolvenz.
Dieser Gummi Luftfilter ist passend für Zündapp Famel Modelle mit 5-Gang-Schaltung und Mikuni Vergaser. Die Aufgabe des Filters ist es die angesaugte Luft zu reinigen, sodass keine Schmutzpartikel in den Vergaser gelangen. Das portugiesische Unternehmen Famel bzw. Casal hat in den 1960er Jahren Lizenzen von Zündapp gekauft und auf Basis der Zündapp Modelle Fahrzeuge für den iberischen Markt gebaut. Zusätzlich wurden verschiedene Modelle von Versandhäusern in Deutschland verkauft.
