Hercules ist wohl eine der bekanntesten Fahrrad- und Motorradmarken in Deutschland. Das von Carl Marschütz im Jahre 1886 gegründete Unternehmen ist ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Nürnberger Motorradindustrie. Durch die enge Zusammenarbeit mit Fichtel & Sachs, wurden die F & S Motoren ab 1928 in die leichten Motorräder bis 200 cm³ von Hercules eingebaut.

Die Hauptaufgabe der Gabelfeder ist es, die Erschütterungen, welche auf den Lenker einwirken abzudämpfen und diese somit nicht auf den Fahrer übertragen werden. Die Feder hat eine Länge von 65 cm und ist passend für Hercules Fahrzeuge.
