Would you have known that "Velozipedfabrik Carl Marschütz & Co." is one of the predecessor names of the Nuremberg-based Hercules Werke? The company was founded in 1886 by Carl Marschütz and manufactured mainly bicycles until 1928. It was only after 1928 that the production of motorised two-wheelers under 200 cc became profitable again. Hercules became one of the best known and largest manufacturers in the Nuremberg motorbike industry.
The foot pedal is part of the gearstick system of your two-wheeler. The gears are engaged by pressing or pulling the lever. The ribbed rubber on the front part of the lever is to prevent you from slipping when shifting gears.
