Bis 1984 stellte das Traditionsunternehmen Zündapp verschiedene Mopeds und Motorräder her. Durch die wirtschaftliche Krise in der Motorradindustrie ab 1955 musste das Unternehmen nach einer langen Berg- und Talfahrt Insolvenz anmelden.
