Das Unternehmen "Hercules" wurde 1886 von Carl Marschütz als Velozipedfabrik Carl Marschütz & Co. gegründet und stellte in den Anfangsjahren bis zum Jahr 1928 Fahrräder her. Erst ab 1928 lohnte sich die Produktion von Motorrädern mit einem Hubraum unter 200 cm³ wieder. Sämtliche Motoren der Hercules-Zweiräder stammen von Fichtel & Sachs.

Verbaut wird dieses Kabeldurchführungsgummi im Motorgehäuse. Der Gummi hat ein Loch, durch welches das Zündkabel geführt wird. Somit kann verhindert werden, dass Fremdkörper ins Innere des Motors gelangen.
