The scooter throttle is designed to reduce the actual speed of the vehicle to 25 km/h. Due to the components used, scooter throttles can be distinguished between electronically acting throttles and mechanically acting throttles. Mechanical throttle sets prevent the two discs of the variator from running together and thus limit the speed. For this purpose, special spacer rings are used between the variomatic pulleys which prevent the V-belt from rising to the full power of the scooter. In the case of electronic throttling, a special CDI is used, which controls the speed of the engine while riding and intervenes in the ignition process. As a rule, the electronic scooter throttle still requires mechanically acting components that must be installed in the variator.
