Die Nürnberger Hercules Werke waren ein großer Bestandteil der 1920er Motorradindustrie in Nürnberg. Das Unternehmen wurde von Karl Marschütz und seinem Bruder gegründet und stellte ab 1928 Zweiräder bis 200 ccm³ her. Dabei wurde in den Hercules Fahrwerken ein Motor von Fichtel & Sachs verbaut.

Schalten Sie die Zündung Ihres Zweirads ein, wird die Primärwicklung der Zündspule mit Strom durchflossen, dadurch entsteht ein Magnetfeld um die Spule. Dieses Magnetfeld wird auf die Sekundärwicklung übertragen. Durch das Öffnen des Unterbrecherkontakts wird ein Hochspannungsimpuls induziert, da das Magnetfeld schnell zusammenbricht. Die Hochspannung wird durch das Zündkabel an die Zündkerze weitergegeben, welche das Benzin-Luft-Gemisch entzündet.
