Malossi Ignition Box TC Unit - RPM Control

DESCRIPTION:
The constant evolution of electronics in the engine sector has led Malossi to realize and distribute a comprehensive series of electronic controls for street and racing scooters, which meet the highest standards of technology. Each control has been specifically designed for a specific scooter model, for which an optimal ignition characteristic (fixed and variable) has been defined after numerous tests on fixed and mobile test benches, as well as on race tracks, in order to obtain maximum vehicle performance. Malossi electronic controls have been designed to allow easy installation, since the compact and ergonomic products are interchangeable with the stock controls and fit exactly on the original connections. Malossi controls also eliminate the need for the rev limiter of the stock controls, allowing the full power and torque of the engines to be used up to 20,000 rpm. Malossi controls with capacitive discharge are therefore maximally suppressed during discharge and provide an almost perfect current pulse at the spark plugs (35,000-50,000 volts depending on the engine speed), they also provide very high, as well as surprisingly constant discharge voltage and discharge current at all engine speeds.

TC UNIT R.P.M. CONTROL

On these controls there is a microswitch, which can be mounted on the vehicle in a protected place as needed, and which turns on the engine speed limiter. The engine speed at which the governor switches on is adjustable depending on the type of engine. By setting the speed at which the governor switches on, which is based on the vehicle's tachometer and is done by means of a micro potentiometer mounted on the control unit, it is possible to adjust the point at which the governor switches on. The potentiometer is very sensitive, so during the adjustment phase it must be adjusted only minimally to reach the engagement point of the governor on the scooter.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The RPM Control represents a special feature. In contrast to the normal TC unit, a speed limiter can be switched on and off via a toggle switch, and the speed range and thus the final speed can be adjusted by means of a rotary control. Through a strengthened ignition spark, the RPM Control improves the performance in the entire speed band.
