DESCRIPTION:
In 1917 Fritz Ludwig Neumeyer founded the Zünder-Apparatebau-Gesellschaft m. b. H., which was one of the major German motorbike manufacturers. From 1921 to 1984, practical utility motorbikes were built in Nuremberg and later in Munich until 1958. The company is better known today as Zündapp-Werke GmbH.
The kickstarter is a starting device on motorised two-wheelers that is operated with the foot. The rider steps on the kickstarter lever, which accelerates the crankshaft to the speed required for starting. Most mopeds and motorbikes built until 1970 were started with this type of starter. The starter lever is usually retractable and is located on the right or left side of the engine.
