Until the 1990s the Nuremberg Hercules Werke produced mopeds, mopeds and mokicks. Hercules was one of the best known and most established two-wheeler brands in the Nuremberg motorcycle industry. The company was founded in 1886 by Carl Marschütz under the name "Velozipedfabrik Carl Marschütz & Co.
