Das bereits 1884 gegründete Unternehmen "Piaggio" stellte erst 1946 sein erstes Zweirad, die "Vespa" vor. In den folgenden Jahren wurde die Produktpalette kontinuierlich erweitert. Die bekannten Modelle APE und CIAO wurden 1948 bzw. 1967 vorgestellt.

Ein Kolbenring ist sehr wichtig und hat mehrere Aufgaben. Die wichtigste Aufgabe ist es wohl den Arbeitsraum abzudichten. Weitere Aufgabe ist es für die richtige Dosierung des Schmieröls zwischen der Lauffläche des Ringes und der Zylinderwand zu sorgen. Außerdem ist der Kolbenring für die Ableitung der Verbrennungswärme aus dem Kolben zur gekühlten Zylinderwand verantwortlich. Mit diesem Satz erhalten Sie zwei Kolbenringe.
