DESCRIPTION:
The name Zündapp-Werke GmbH comes from the founding company "ZÜNDer-APParatebau-GmbH", which Fritz Ludwig Neumeyer founded in 1916 together with two partners. Until 1921, they mainly manufactured armaments for artillery purposes. From then on, the focus was on motorcycle and engine production, and the first machines were sold in 1922. Over the years, production increased and Zündapp became one of the five most important motorcycle factories in Europe.
