The scooter CDI (Capacitor Discharger Ignition) is responsible for calculating the correct ignition timing. The main advantage of CDIs, as found in many scooters today, is that they are low-wear and absolutely maintenance-free. However, the disadvantage is that a defective CDI cannot be repaired and must be completely replaced with a new one.
